WEEK 2 WEIGH IN! -Taylor

Week 2 loss:  -1.2 pounds
Week 2 Percentage: .46%

Total Loss: -5.2 pounds
Total Percentage: 1.98%  

Holy crap I actually lost something after eating all the THOUSANDS of calories I ate over the weekend!  I seriously can't believe it (but no worries I got on the scale about 5 times and it said the same number every time!!).  I am so proud of myself!  I figure if I lose 2.5 pounds every week, then in 6 months I will have a total loss of 60 pounds! (Which is my ULTIMATE goal)  Six months is NOT that long!  So that is my #1 goal to lose at least 2.5 pounds each week!

Week 2 Day 7 -Taylor

Tyler and I went out to dinner and a movie (Twilight!!!) tonight.  My calorie intake was about 550 before dinner but I'm not going to lie I may have enjoyed a "few" pieces of pizza and maybe even had a bite (or two) of brownie.  So I'm not 100% sure what my calorie intake was after dinner so I just guessed and these are my stats (sorta)...

Calorie Intake: (around) 1600
Calorie Burned: 465
H2O: 64+

Weigh in is TOMORROW!  My goal for this week was to maintain my 4 pound weight loss from last week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I was able to do that!!! Good Luck!

Week 2 Day 6 -Taylor

So I was really worried that after having a whole weekend of BINGE eating that today would be really hard to get back into "healthy" choices BUT surprisingly it was really easy!  Here are my stats for the day:

Calories Burned: 885
H2O: 64+

I read this quote this morning and fell in LOVE!  I thought this weekend was going to totally mess up my goal of maintaining my weight loss from last week b/c I REALLY enjoyed some amazing foods.  I did workout a little while I was out of town but deffinately not like I normally do.  BUT when I got home yesterday I got on the scale just to see how I was doing and guess what!?  I only gained .2 lbs!  That's not to bad! So I'm still on track of making my goal for this week! WOOHOO! Hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving!!!!

first weigh in.

WEIGH IN WEEK 1 -Taylor

Week One weigh in: -4 lbs which is a 1.53% weight loss

I feel good about this number!  I know that I worked really hard and sure I wish is was more but I'm pretty darn proud of this number!  A friend asked me about the hypothyroidism I have, I have Hashimoto's Disease...(this is info I found on the internet)..."Hashimoto's disease, sometimes known as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, autoimmune thyroiditis, or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, is an autoimmune disease. In Hashimoto's, antibodies react against proteins in the thyroid gland, causing gradual destruction of the gland itself, and making the gland unable to produce the thyroid hormones the body needs." In other words my body is fighting my own thyroid so my metabolism is pretty much non-existent.  So it's extremely difficult for me to lose weight! So I truly am proud of those 4 pounds!

Last week I met every goal I made!!! I worked out 6 out 7 days, over 30min, over 64oz of H2O!  So this week I have ONE GOAL!.... TO MAINTAIN this 4 pound loss!  I have alot going on this week and all of it includes food!  Thanksgiving is a scary week but I will bust my booty to at least maintain this loss! Day 7 -Taylor

Well today is my last day before tomorrow's weigh in!  I'm not nervous b/c I KNOW that I worked my butt off this week.  I know because of my thyroid the numbers may not be what I want but I will be proud of whatever number shows up!  As a reward my class is having a Thanksgiving party tomorrow and we are having cupcakes and I AM GOING TO EAT ONE GUILT FREE!
Also tonight I went and bought a new scale!  My old one was from the 1700's and I didn't always trust it.  So the one I bought tonight is one that shows you your weight, body fat percentage, and hydration percentage!  So I had Tyler weigh himself on the new one and old one to see if there was a difference ( I made him do it b/c I didn't want to know my weight yet) and sure enough the new scale is about 4 pounds more than our old one! DANG! So it's like I've gained 4 pounds!  So I'll weigh in on the old scale and count that weight but also weigh on the new scale and start using that from now on.  Well good luck tomorrow!!!

Day 6 -Taylor

Well today was my first "bad" day.  My poor little boy woke up this morning around 3am and since then I've been knee high in throw up and poop!  Needless to say I didn't get in a workout and I didn't count calories.  I guess these days will come and when life happens you just have to go with it.  Luckily he has been throw up free for a couple hours now so I'm hoping it has passed.  Only 2 more days until my first weigh in so I'll have to step it up tomorrow! Until then the only thing I'm going to worry about is rocking my sweet baby to sleep.

Day 5 Strength Training vs. Cardio -Taylor

So I decided to do some strength training instead of just cardio today and although my buns are feeling it my calorie counter wasn't!  I was surprised that after doing an hour strength training video I only burned 675 calories when yesterday I did an hour of cardio and burned 1000!  I know we need strength training but I wish it burned more calories! Oh well I'll get some good cardio in tomorrow!  Here are day 5's STATS:

CALORIES CONSUMED:  800 (which is low, I may have a little snack b/4 I go to bed)
CALORIES BURNED: 675
H2O: 64+

I promise I'm eating normal I'm just choosing foods that are low calorie!  For example here was my day:
BREAKFAST: 2 slices of Toast-100
                       "I can't believe it's not butter"- 45
                        Raspberry jam-34       TOTAL= 179

LUNCH: 2 slices of bread-100
               2 turkey hot dogs-80
               1 slice of reduced fat cheese-45
               1 TBLS ketchup- 15
               15 Special K chips-55           TOTAL= 295

DINNER: Chicken Rolatini with zuccini and cheese-165
                 Summer squash-10
                 Spinach salad with craisins and almonds-40
                 Nutella wontons with fruit-111     TOTAL= 326

I normally eat a snack in between breakfast and lunch but I didn't have time today.  So that was my day of food!  OH and the Chicken Rolatini was AMAZING!!!!  The recipe is from skinnytaste.com, you HAVE to try it! Here is a pict from the website and mine looked exactly like it!  MMMMMM! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!!

Day 4 -Taylor

Today was an okay day.  I got up early and took the boys for a walk/jog.  My goal was to burn 1000 calories so I could get my workout over with so I could spend the rest of the day with my boys.  So after about an hour and ten minutes I finally saw that glorious number on my HRM!  I ate great all day b/c I knew we were going to a family party tonight and I wanted to enjoy myself and eat some goodies :)
STATS:

Calories Consumed: Before the dinner party I had consumed 724 (who knows how much I consumed at the party, prob alot but oh well that's what parties are for!)

Calories Burned: 1001

H2O: 64+

So I'm thinking of buying myself a treadmill for Christmas...what do you think?  I don't "love" running but I need something other than these workout videos I've been doing.  Any suggestions?

Day 3 -Taylor

Well today started like any other day when all of a sudden (to my horror!) my awesome co-worker brought me a CREAMCHEESE BROWNIE from Paradise Bakery!!! Seriously the yummiest brownie ever!  So I thought "maybe I'll just half it and have some now and some tomorrow"  So I looked up the calories on their website and guess how many calories was in that small little devil........1170!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IN ONE BROWNIE!!! I couldn't believe it!  So I immediately went to a friend and kindly asked if they would PLEASE eat it for me! lol.  Luckily he accepted and I was off the hook!  I can't tell you how proud I am of myself!!!

Today's STATS:

Calories Consumed: 1175 (yeah my whole day was about the same as that ONE brownie!)
Calories Burned: 250 (my body is SO SORE!!! I thought I'd give myself a break:)
H2O: 64+ oz

All in all it was a great day!  I didn't workout as long as I usually do but I'm going to hit it hard tomorrow! Hope you had a great day!!!

Day 2 -Taylor

To start I wanted to tell you about a HUGE milestone! (ok maybe not a milestone but it's pretty freakin awesome!)  So tonight I went to a meeting for my boys daycare and as I walked in there were 4 platters full of an assortment of COOKIES!  I'm not talking about the generic, boring cookies....I'm talkin about homemade chocolate chip, chocolate with white chocolate, peanut butter.....(my mouth is watering as I type) So the director told me to grab a plate and some cookies and guess what....I SAID NO THANKYOU!!!!   WHAT!?  That's right I passed on all that sugary goodness.  This was a huge step for me!  Ahhhh feels good to make good choices!

Anywho now on to my day.... I met all my goals for today!

Calories consumed: 814 (I know this is too low, I will eat more tomorrow!)
Calories burned 1000!!! (Yes you read that right, it says ONE THOUSAND)
Water intake: 64+ (I stop counting after 64)

So it's kinda like I didn't eat anything today!  Sucky thing is b/c of my hypothyroidism I'm still scared I'm not going to drop any weight....oh well I guess we'll see next Wednesday!  How was your day???

day 1 - Brooke

So yesterday was a really good day!! I was under my calories and I did my upper body work out. I missed my running thought. I also ate all whole foods.

This morning I made a "green smoothie". My friend Shannon told me about them a few weeks ago. The first time I made it I added protein powder and it was so gross.

This morning I made it just like she told me and it was delicious!


Graham loved it too!


So this is how I made it:

1/3 cup plain greek yogurt 

1/3 cup of the following fruit (you can use fresh or frozen) : peaches, raspberries, and blueberries

1 T flaxseed

2 cups fresh spinach

1 cup vanilla almond milk

Day ONE -Taylor

Day one was a SUCCESS!!!!  I ate great! I exercised great! I feel great! Here's my day:

Total food calories for the day: 1,005
Total workout calories burned: 580
So that means it's like I only ate: 425 calories!!!

AND I drank WELL OVER 80oz of water!  I have never peed so much in my life!!!

My workouts today were from Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and this old school dancers workout dvd I found!  Now I'm off to bed for some MUCH DESERVED rest!!!

Week One Goals -Taylor

Yay! I'm excited to be back and SUPER motivated!  Ok here are my week ONE goals:

H2O: at least 64oz EVERYDAY!
 
WORKOUTS: at least 30 minutes 5 out of 7 days this week

CALORIES: under 1400 calories daily (I'm using myfitnesspal.com to track calories)

What motivates me?....Well I LOVE looking at weightloss blogs!  I love seeing regular ppl doing amazing things!  Lately I have been reading runsforcookies.com!  She is so inspiring!

Well here we go!  I weighed in this morning and took measurements so I'm excited to see what next Wednesday says!  Good luck!!!

Let's get this started...

Ok! I'm back! I know I might have got off the train but I'm back on and very excited about that.

This is the plan:


  • RUN -Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (usually with my girls in the morning but if, like today, I missed that then on the treadmill)
  • WEIGHTS- Monday, Wednesday, Friday (switching between upper body and lowerbody)
  • 1,200 Calories a day -four, 300cal meals consisting for whole, none processed food. 
  • 64oz OF WATER -daily. 
  • YOGA- Tuesday and Thursday. 

I'm using myfitnesspal to track my calories.

I'm also very into rewarding myself. So if you have any great ideas let me know! Some of my previous rewards have been running shoes, manicures...ect.
