Be careful what you wish for....-Taylor

So obviously I've been WISHING and PRAYING to lose some weight...well BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!! 
Yesterday morning I was grocery shopping when all of a sudden I felt an over-whelming feeling that I was going to pass out.  So I cut my shopping trip short and went home.  I was thinking I was a little dehydrated so I drank some water and laid down.  That's when it happened....the details are blurry but all I know is from noon to about midnight I puked up every last ounce of liquid in my body...and then some!  I thought it was food poisioning until I started shaking uncontrolably, so I checked my temp and it was 102.4!!!! Yep you guessed it, THE FLU! Ugh it was horrible!  My body literally feels like it was hit by a bus and my muscles are more sore from throwing up then doing a weeks worth of Insanity!  Needless to say I've lost 6 lbs in the last 2 days (I'm not counting it as a "true loss" b/c I know that once I start eating again, it'll come back)
I'm finally feeling a little better and even ate some toast (and kept it down!).  So hopefully "this too shall pass" and just in time for Christmas!!  I'll be spending it in Tucson with my family!  Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!

NSV- Taylor

I had a small NSV (non-scale victory) today!  So after a day full of building (and eating) gingerbread houses, decorating (and eating) sugar cookies, and eating Dominoes for lunch I pretty much felt like crap.  I decided not to workout b/c I was having a little pity party for myself and figured I'm not really losing weight anyways...blablabla.  So my mind was set and as 2:30 rolled around (my usual workout time) I started feeling anxious.  Almost like my body knew it should be doing some movement by this point of the day.  So I grumpily put on my shoes and started today's workout (Insanity-Pure Cardio).  As I started moving I immediately started sweating like I've never sweat before.  I seriously think my body was getting rid of all the CRAP I ate today.  I ended up burning 630 calories in 38 minutes!  As I'm sitting here, drenched in sweat, I'm so GRATEFUL I did it.  I feel so much better!  It's not much, but it put a little "pep in my step" for the rest of the day!  Hope you're having a MARVELOUS Tuesday!

Weekends=The Devil -Taylor

I'm starting to hate weekends!!!!  When it comes to exercising and eating right, weekends=the devil!  When I'm working I don't have time to snack and I only get a 30 minute lunch break so it's not hard to stay on track THEN I bring my workout stuff to school and just workout in my classroom so it works out great.  Now on weekends I bake goodies all day and do anything BUT workout.  I'm thinking of changing "weigh in Wednesday" to "weigh in Friday"....what do you think?  That way any "damage" I do over the weekend I can hopefully work off by Friday!  Any ideas on how to stay on track over the weekends???

Wk5 Day2 -Taylor

On my day "off" I had one of these:

It was SOOOOO good but the calorie count was SOOOO bad!  This small cup of peppermint cocoa had a whoppin 300 calories!!! Yikes.  So this morning I attempted to "re-create" this scrumptious little treat.  So I started with a pack of 25 calorie hot cocoa mix, added boiling water and a mini candy cane(10 calories).  The candy cane melted and turned boring hot chocolate into a YUMMMY duplicate of the 300 calorie stuff for only 35 calories!!! I was soooo excited. I believe I will be having one every morning this entire winter season! 

I did Insanity cardio power and resistance today and burned 625 calories!  I LOVE Insanity! I am so proud of myself for doing it everyday and I get to take my second "fit test" next Monday (the first test was done on the first day) and I'm excited to see what improvements I've made in the last 2 weeks!!! Wk5 Day1 Wednesday Weigh-in! -Taylor

I can't believe I'm already in week 5!!!! Crazy how time flies!  So I was a little frusterated yesterday b/c I got a call from my Endocrinologist telling me that my blood work showed my thyroid is low (like usual).  I told her that I've been trying to lose weight and for how much work I'm putting into it I'm not getting results and all she said was, "Well that's b/c your thyroid is low...."  NO DUH!  UGH!  I told her I wanted it out and she said to be patient!  I've been "patient" for 3 years now, I'm DONE being patient!  grrrr. ANYWHO, I promise myself not to give up and at least I feel like I'm doing something. 

On to the weigh in....I had low hopes for today but when I got on the scale it was ONE pound down! Hey I'll take it! 

Total weight loss: 6lbs
Total percent loss: 2.27%

Today was a success! (Brooke)

Today was so awesome!! I did:

upper body with weights in the morning



Then ran 2 miles and walked 2 miles tonight.

I also ate really healthy. 

I bought a huge 64oz mug and have kept it filled with later and drank at least 1 whole mug of water. I don't know what has changed motivation wise but I really need to stay motivated.

My plan is to work out Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and do weights in the morning and run in the evening. I'm going to do this for a few weeks then add an exercise video Tuesday and Thursday mornings. 
I think when I was trying to exercise everyday I would get overwhelmed because that's just more times I have to get ready and I know that's not that big of a deal but for me it is with these 3 kids. And also I can plan on running my errands Tuesdays and Thursdays and then just be home on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. 

I'm trying to eat smaller meals through out the day and just listen to when my body is hungry. And each meal I have a healthy carb and a healthy protein and a side of veggies for most meals. 

I just need to stay away from bad food for now until I'm in the habit of eating healthy.

I'm so excited to be back doing good. It feels so exciting to be doing what you are supposed to be doing.

Here's to New Beginnings, Because Beginnings are Always New.

Find of the Century -Taylor

Howdy! So I've completed my first full week of Insanity!!!  Today is my "rest" day and it feels weird to not workout (maybe I'll take a walk/jog later on today).  So far I LOVE it!  There are a few things I still can't do (like a freakin pushup!) but for the most part I get thru the videos pretty well!  It's a 60 day program and my goal is to finish the whole thing!  Seven days down 53 to go! lol.

Now for the "find of the century"!  I actually discovered this from one of my students.  They are called Veggie Straws and Apple Straws!!!! 


Each of these bags has a serving size of 38 straws for 130 calories, which is WAY too much! I usually have half of that so I have 19 straws for only 65 calories.  The veggies straws are salty and totally take the place of a chip or french fry!!! The Apple straws are coated in cinnamon and sugar and remind me of Taco Bell's Cinnamon Twists!  YUMMMM!  You should deffinately give these a try!!!

NSV -Taylor

NSV: Non Scale Victory
Today I was grateful for NSV's!  I knew that I had a rough weekend but when I got on the scale this morning and saw that I had a 0 lb loss I was pissed!  BUT since today is the start of my 4th week it was time to do measurements again.  Here were my results:

Hips: -3
Waist: -2
Chest: -2
R thigh: -1
L thigh: -1
R arm: -.5
L arm: -.5
That's a total of -10 inches in only 3 weeks!!!!  I am soooo glad I took measurements!  If I'm not losing it on the scale at least I know I'm losing it in inches!!! 
Otherwise my day was great!  Since it's Weigh-In Wednesday I got to "cheat"  so I had some peanut butter m&m's! mmm.  I did day 3 of Insanity.  It was 40 minutes and I burned 616 calories!!! And this is what we had for dinner:

Wk3 Day7 -Taylor

Today was Day 2 of INSANITY and I am sooooo sore!!!!  Today I did Plyometrics Cardio.  It was a 35 minute video and I burned 525 calories!!!  My calorie intake was 1200.  Tomorrow is my 3rd weigh-in and I'm not 100% confident I met my -2 lb goal only because I had a "rough" weekend that consisted of alot of homemade cookies and pasta!  But I had a great day today and I'm excited to see some results (hopefully!)  Happy Tuesday!!!

Goin the Extra Mile! -Taylor

So as I finished my post last night (you know the "stupid cookies" post), I realized my kids were happily playing in the bath under Tyler's supervision and all I was doing was sitting on my rear doing nothing! So I got off the couch and did a quick 20 minute workout video in which I burned an extra 311 calories!  That almost took care of the "cookie" incident!  Afterwards I felt sooo good and so proud of myself for "going the extra mile." :)  Just thought I'd share!!! Hope you're doing well!

Wk3 Day6 -Taylor

Well I did my first day of INSANITY today!!! It was the "fit test" and it was CRAZY!!!! But I loved it!  The fit test was only 25 minutes and I burned 375 calories!!!  So I'm excited to see how tomorrow's workout goes! 

My eating was great today.  My breakfast, snack, and lunch came to about 550 calories!  Then after school I wanted to have some of my homemade cookies I made yesterday.  So I had 2 (I usually and 3+) with one cup of skim milk.  Well I felt good about it until I entered it into myfitnesspal.com.  Guess how many calories those 2 stupid cookies and cup of milk was!!?? 450 CALORIES!!!  So that "small" snack was almost as many calories as my entire day so far! UGH!  So I made my husband eat the rest of the cookies (and dough) so it wouldn't be a temptation anymore!  I finished the day with a salad and pulled pork.  I was still under my calorie goal but I was stunned at the amount of calories those cookies had!

Well I have one more day until Weigh In Wednesday!  My goal is -2lbs but I'm not gonna lie I'm not feeling too confident!  Oh well I'll just do my best and be happy with the results!  Happy Monday!

Wk3 Day5 -Crappy Weekend-Taylor

Wow I had a tough weekend!  The only exercise I got was whatever running around I did with the boys and my "healthy" eating involved chocolate covered strawberries! lol.   Oh well I know we all have ups and downs and this weekend was deffinately a "down".  Hopefully I can kick some booty Monday and Tuesday so I can still meet my -2 lb goal!  Have a GREAT week!!!

Wk3 Day3 -Taylor

    This was my workout yesterday!

I shook my grove thang for 41 minutes and burned 325 calories!!!  Not bad for a video game!  My calorie intake was 1200.  So I was under my goal! Woo hoo!

Also I'm starting this new workout!
I did this a couple years ago and it kicked my booty!!!! I'm super excited to try it again!  Hope you're having a GREAT week!
